Advisory on Indian Passport

     It has been observed on multiple occasions that the Indian passports have been used as an advertising platform by many unscrupulous travel agents, defacing the cover of the passport by pasting their agency/company’s stickers. This is also in contravention of Government of India’s guidelines in this regard.

2.   All passport holders are therefore requested to ensure that their passports are not defaced by the travel agents or any other person or establishment at any time.

3.   It has also been observed that many passport holders abroad apply for renewal of their passport when the validity of passport is about to finish, and they have some urgency. All passport holders may please note that the application for renewal of passport can be made one year before the date of expiry or on exhaustion of pages of current passport, whichever is earlier.
