Advisory for Travellers from India on Porn
Australian law enforcement authorities are extremely strict against those possessing pornographic material, whether in print or on digital media. Such possession can not only lead to Court cases, but also to imprisonment. Moreover, it also does not reflect well on the country whose nationals are found to be in possession.
2. While entering the Australian Customs territory, the Incoming Passenger Card that is filled up by any foreign national requires the traveller to answer whether he/she is carrying “Goods that may be prohibited or subject to restrictions, such as medicines, steroids, firearms, weapons of any kind or illicit drugs?” It is clear that carrying pornographic material of certain types is also prohibited in Australia, although the examples in this question do not specifically mention this aspect.
3. Indian nationals travelling to Australia are thus advised to strictly avoid carrying any such material.
